After an alien invasion that nearly resulted in the destruction of the human race, the World Government began to breed geniuses. These geniuses were bred for one purpose, to ensure that humans would prevail if the aliens ever decided to return. Ender Wiggin was bred a genius precisely for that purpose, but he was not the first in his family to have been bred by the government. Ender had two equally intelligent siblings named Valentine and Peter, both of which were rejected by the government because of personality reasons. Valentine was simply too loving and kind, and Peter was simply too full of hatred and anger. However, Ender came to be a perfect combination of his two siblings.
As a result, Ender continued to be monitored by the International Fleet, but at the age of six Ender had his monitor removed. Soon afterward, Ender was forced into a fight in which he continuously beat his attacker. After the I.F. learned that Ender's motive for doing so was to prevent future attacks, Ender was accepted into Battle School. On his arrival to Battle School, which was in space, Ender learned that all of his training would be in the form of both digital and physical games. He also learned that the teachers were mentally isolating him from the rest of his launch group by causing his peers to loathe him. The teachers did so believing both that Ender was humanity's last hope for survival and that isolating him would morph him into a better soldier. However, Ender did not intend to stay isolated for long. As a result, he slowly gathered a small group of friends by rebelling under the rule of a bully named Bernard.
Before Long, Ender managed to gain a friend who was close to Bernard, and this friend acted as a bridge between Ender's group and Bernard's. Therefore, he managed to break his isolation. However, as soon as Ender began to grow close to his friends, he was transferred into Salamander Army. After he arrived at his new barracks, he was told by Salamander Army's commander, Bonzo, that he wouldn't participate in practices or battles. As a result, every morning Ender practiced with his friend Petra from Salamander Army, and every evening he practiced with friends from his launch group. However, the commander of Salamander Army soon traded Ender to Rat Army, so Ender decided to give up practices with his friend Petra.
On his arrival to Rat Army's barracks, Ender learned that he would actually be practicing and participating with the rest of Rat Army rather than sitting out. As a result, he grew closer to his Toon Leader. Ender's Toon Leader, Dink, then explained to him how he believed that the school system was crazy and how he suspected that the teachers were lying to the students. Ender took this into account and began to pay closer attention to everything that happened around him. He then found that his evening practices with friends were being disrupted by the comments of several commanders, and soon he and his friends were pulled into a huge fight against many of the school's older boys. Ender and his group defeated the older boys and continued with their practices.
In Ender's absence from Earth, Peter took advantage of the imminent Land War and plotted to take control of the world by way of persuasive political writing. He attempted persuade his sister Valentine to help him with the writings, and Valentine, easily tricked by Peter, agreed. While Peter and Valentine were carrying out their plan, Ender began to move up within the Battle School's ranks. However, he was never happy, for he felt as if he had no control over his life. As a result of his unhappiness, the I.F. forced Valentine to write Ender a letter that would encourage him to push forward. After receiving the letter, Ender continued his studies and was promoted to commander of the Dragon Army.
Ender trained the soldiers within his army extremely well, and soon they were winning every battle that the teachers threw at them. His army quickly placed first within the ranks, and commanders, such as Bonzo, began to despise him for his genius. It was not long before he learned that many soldiers and commanders were plotting to kill him. Unfortunately, Ender was reckless and one day during lunch, which he did not attend, he found himself surrounded by attackers. His main attacker, Bonzo, had no mercy and quickly attempted to harm Ender, but Ender used his intelligence to defeat Bonzo. In the end, Ender continuously struck Bonzo as he struck his attacker back on Earth. Therefore, preventing future attacks.
After Bonzo's attempt at killing Ender, Ender was promoted to Command School, but he refused to play the government's game any longer. Ender then stayed on Earth for two months before Valentine finally convinced him to return to his studies and fight for Earth. He was then taken to I.F. Command on the planet Eros, for that was where the rest of his training would take place. Ender quickly engaged in his studies as well as in practices with a simulator. He easily mastered the use of the simulator and began training under a military genius known as Mazer Rackham. He then discovered that he and his best-trained friends from Battle School would take part in simulated skirmishes against Mazer Rackham.
After weeks of using the simulator against fake alien armadas, Ender took his final Exam. He quickly annihilated the simulated enemy's species and discovered that he had, in reality, just destroyed the enemy that the human race had spent so long fearing. Ender, shocked by what he had done, quickly ran from the simulator room with tears streaming from his eyes, for he had never meant to cause the extinction of an entire species. Then he understood how Mazer had lied to him, for the game never really was just a game. Soon afterward, chaos erupted on Earth, the Land War took place, and Peter Wiggin took power. Peter's idea of colonizing other planets quickly spread, and Valentine Wiggin, Ender's Sister, prepared to depart with the colonists. However, before she left she urged Ender to come with her, and Ender, both unable and unwilling to return to Earth, agreed to depart with her.
As soon as Valentine and Ender arrived at their colony, Ender, now a war hero, was quickly made governor. Years passed and the colony prospered, but then Ender discovered something that shocked him. He discovered a life-sized replica of a world he had created within a digital game. What shocked him most of all, was the fact that it was a replica of a game he had played back when he was in Battle School. The aliens had made it for him, and he soon understood why. There was an alien cocoon hidden within. The aliens had known everything about Ender, so they must have known that he would one day discover the cocoon. He then understood how the aliens never meant to harm Humans, for they only wanted peace after their first two invasions. At that moment, Ender promised that he would scour the universe for a place where the alien cocoon could hatch, multiply, and live in peace.

One event in the book "Ender's Game," by Orson Scott Card, reminds me of an event that took place in the book "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix." In "Ender's Game," the adults in control of Ender's simulation practices deceive both him and his colleagues, for they refused to reveal how Ender is actually fighting in a war every time he enters a simulation. Therefore, it came as a terrible shock to Ender when he finally discovered that he was fighting in the war. Similarly, in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" the Ministry of Magic refuses to reveal the return of Voldemort. As a result, when the public discovers that Voldemort has returned it comes as a terrible shock. While the deception used in both books was similar, the ones being deceived were on completely different scales. In "Ender's Game" a small group of secluded children were deceived, while in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" the public population of wizards was deceived. However, the similarity of results still remains unaltered. In both "Ender's Game" and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," the result of the deception was absolute shock.
